Aye, and perhaps the most militant of religious corporations. How many others have their own Thought Police, Kangaroo Courts and Governing Body Idols?

Are JWs the most corporate religion?
by cookiemaster ini find it pretty shocking how corporate the jw religion is.
i never saw it this way when i was in but now that i look at it from a different perspective, it seems quite clear.
much of the terminology used by jws is corporate inspired.

Today's Text for J.W.'s
by The Fall Guy in's perverted & self-condemnatory language is inescapable.
"......but what does this tell us about our enemy satan?.........
he certainly does not have a soft spot for children.

One thing is "for sure." The WTBorg Cult Inc. does have a keen understanding of the Job of Satan. But then, it figures. After all, the WTBorg Cult Inc. is aiding Satan as he goes about his work of lying, deceiving and hurting people.
They're doing a "splendid" job of it too.

Question by SnuggleBunny:
Why doesn't the Watchtower simply apply the Hot / Crazy Matrix and leave us fellas to get on with it?
Superb question! Both the long and short answers should be "obvious."
Long answer: While claiming to be the "channel of God" they are in reality in service to the Father of the Lie.
Short answer: They are a CULT.
Once that sinks in, Freedom begins.

What really should be the role of Women in the congregations?
by Old Navy inthe presumably "biblical" practice of limiting the way women participate in congregational matters of the wtborg cult inc. (as well as certain other sects of christendom) may be a gross mis-interpretation of what paul meant.
i'm inclined to agree completely with this account of what paul really meant.. thoughts anyone?
aren't women more deserving of greater participation and respect?.

Need your help - Shunning essay
by EdenOne ini wrote this one the other thread, but maybe it gets lost in it.. i'm considering adding one section to my essay on the subject of shunning.
perhaps it may evolve into a book.
i think it would add considerable weight to it if i would include two or three real life stories of people who suffered shunning.

Bump it again. This is an important work of revealing the Truth about the JWBorg Cult which should be documented extensively.

Countering JW shunning: How a social psychologist's work from 50 yrs ago points to a new approach
by adamah ini've written a blog article on the topic of jw practice of shunning, inspired by a few recent threads on jwn where the results of social psychologist stanley milgram's work on authority figures came into the discussion:.
http://awgue.weebly.com/countering-jw-shunning-how-the-implications-of-stanley-milgrams-work-may-suggest-using-a-different-approach.html.
as usual, the article will be available for reading there, but please discuss over here in this thread.. .

Really excellent discussion!
It seems that the WTBorg Cult Inc. adopted "Disfellowshiping" with shunning as an essential component of it back in 1952.
Just looked at this video today. An Orthodox Rabbi's son decided to leave Judah-ism and was "shunned" in a manner very similar to what the JWBorg are required to exercise. Perhaps a little less violent but otherwise strikingly similar in both actions and terminology. One must wonder, have the practices of Judah-ism been incorporated into WTBorg Cult Inc. policy and dogma?

Those who DO NOT get a resurrection?
by stuckinarut2 inso we know that by jw logic, the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin and will get a resurrection in the "new world".
however, those directly destroyed by god, or at his command will not.
(for example, those destroyed in the flood.

The WTBorg Cult Inc. has made their "god" into some sort of "Cosmic Killjoy."
The term "Cosmic Killjoy" is not mine but one used by Hank Hanegraaff The Bible Answer Man.
It fits with what the brand of Troof which the Watchtower Society sells. Biblically Unsound with undue emphasis on Fear.

1 John 5:13-20 Jesus is the true God?
by NikL inone of the main things i am trying to wrap my head around after waking up to the nonsense of jw.org is the deity of christ.. jws go out of their way to ignore him, it seems to me.
they make him out to be an angel or something.
yet, if one simply reads the scriptures, you get an entirely different picture.. doing some bible reading this morning i accidentally (long story) read the latter part of 1 john 5 and it's good stuff.. after reading it in the niv i read it in nwt and it is still pretty amazing even in that abomination of a translation.. it says.... 13 i write you these things so that you may know that you have life everlasting, you who put your faith in the name of the son of god.

1 John 5:13-20 Jesus is the true God?
Is the question asking whether he is the Father and the Son? Or that the Son is perhaps really the Father?
There are many things that we do not yet know about the Heavenly Family but one day we shall. In the meantime we wonder about the several hypotheses which have been advanced regarding the Nature of God.
A Father who has a Son like Himself sounds good to me.

Watchtower Ironically Warns It's Memeber About "Propaganda" - Watchtower July 2017
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-july-2017/propaganda-winning-battle-for-your-mind/.
in what is just the height of irony, watchtower warns us about propaganda, and accepting everything we hear/read.
yes, we should ignore those that try to stop us thinking critically as this watchtower article will now teach us.

Yep, agreed. It is definitely a desperation move.
Really great collective analysis! You've all nailed it!
